School's Out

The sound of children cheering, teachers exhaling, and parents sighing was heard this afternoon when the final bell rang to end school and begin summer vacation. The celebrating began in earnest as my schools each held a staff party after school. One of the parties was at my house so I made sure to leave in time to get home and be ready. Paige has been helping out a lot this week since her internship has not started yet. It was a good thing because when I walked in the door, I already had four teachers in my kitchen preparing for the party! We had a fun time and little Max's paws never hit the floor - he was the source of many cuddles. The unfortunate thing was that the party for my other school was at the same time so I didn't get to celebrate with my other family. I have been feeling melancholy about this and the fact that I have been saying goodbye to all of my Fremont friends in order to be full time at one school next year. I hope that our paths will continue to cross in the future because that school is filled with very special people.
