Driving through Idaho today really reminded us of driving through northeastern Colorado but with a few hills in the background. Lots of agriculture, cows and sagebrush. I wish that every farm would post signs about what crops they are growing. I mean I can recognize corn but nosy travelers like me want to know what the other plants are!
We arrived in Meridian mid afternoon. Meridian is a suburb just west of Boise. Our KOA here is right in the middle of the city and is very large with at least 224 RVs squished together. Many look like they are either there permanently or for the season with elaborate decks and lawn decorations. Personally, if I was going to live at a KOA I would pick a more scenic, less cramped one.
We set up in a hurry so we could meet friends for Happy Hour at the Village at Meridian which is a beautiful outdoor mall. Steve and Chris are Boise residents and Steve is a long time friend and colleague of Don’s. We had a great visit but I think the waitress was worried that we would never leave!
Tomorrow we will be arriving in Oregon. I am looking forward to staying in the same spot for a few nights.
