Now to figure out how to get to the walnut! The Walnut tree Very friendly KOA staff here

Today was a travel day through Utah- mostly desolate, desert landscape and the hot temperature made it even more inhospitable. However, the rock formations were interesting and beautiful as we drove through the canyons.
Salt Lake City was bustling as we drove through. The thought of exploring this large city with a 5th wheel was not appealing so we didn’t stop! I’ve heard that there is a famous lake(!) there but we couldn’t see it from the highway we were on.
I was wondering why all of the highway signs had a beehive symbol on them and apparently Don knew that Utah is the beehive state. Come to find out, after some googling, Utah’s state symbol is the beehive because when Brigham Young and his Latter Day Saints followers arrived in 1847, Young adopted the beehive symbol because they would all have to work cooperatively to make the desert bloom.
We made a point before we left Palisade to buy some peaches and corn but were surprised that there are many fruit stands outside of Brigham City where we stayed. This area of Utah is much greener and has a climate for peaches, apricots, cherries, etc. We had a walnut tree next to our campsite but I haven’t had time to dig in to the one I picked up to find the walnut so it’s on board for a later time. We did finally see the northeastern edge of the famous Salt Lake so I guess it does exist! Also, Brigham City is a cute little town.
On to Idaho tomorrow!
P.S. The air conditioners are now working!
