Don returned tonight from a four day fishing trip in Saskatchewan, Canada. He fished in a remote area surrounded by lakes that can only be accessed by slow boat or pontoon plane. He chose the plane. The fishing lodge is owned by an American family and the guides were Woodland Cree Indians who live there year round. He had a great time and caught a lot of fish including a 39 inch Pike! There was no cell phone service and they only had Internet one hour a night. The only way I knew he was alive was through a navigation device called a Spot that the kids and I gave him for Father's Day. This device connects to a satellite and when he "checks in" it emails me the coordinates where he is located. Every day I could see on the map exactly where he was fishing. I love technology!
